Chelsea Field & Vampire Diaries Star Ian Somerhalder Unleash 100k for Stray Pets

Field Visits Fox News to Continue Animal Awareness
Campaign with Acoustic Performance

NASHVILLE, TN – November 17, 2010 – This past Saturday, rising country star Chelsea Field and Ian Somerhalder, leading actor of the CW Network’s hit series, The Vampire Diaries, proved to be a successful tag team, raising just over $100,000 for homeless animals in the southern region of Louisiana.

Over 1,000 supporters, and 32 fur balls, turned out for Unleashed! Bash on the Bayou. The benefit featured Field as the evening’s musical talent with Somerhalder acting as event host and Chairman. One-hundred percent of the event’s proceeds benefit Covington, Louisiana’s St. Tammany Humane Society, the largest no-kill animal shelter in the state.

“Working with Ian on this event is something I will never forget,” notes Field. “The event raised a serious amount of money and I know in my heart that more than a few lives were saved. It doesn’t get any better than that.”

Field continues her St. Tammany fundraising mission with the recent i-Tunes release of “Love’s Never Leavin.’” The song, penned by American Idol finalist Katharine McPhee, Grammy-Award winning songwriter Richard Marx and acclaimed Nashville producer Trey Bruce, is currently available for download with all proceeds benefiting St. Tammany.

Last Monday, Field performed the song live at the Fox News studios in New York City. The Fox News Strategy Room was buzzing as Field treated a national viewing audience to an intimate acoustic performance. Watch Field on the Fox News Strategy Room here.
